Today, a true dual firmware setup has arrived by the hand of a Spanish hacker, who goes by
varicela. He was able to successfully install a working dual NAND setup on his 40gb Fat PS3. The job isn't an easy process and most likely shouldn't be tried by the average user. The entire process requires soldering 32 fine wires to the PlayStation 3's system board. Varicela has not released a tutorial yet or directions, but you can assume that will be coming in a future update. In addition, he promises to release videos of the dual nand setup next. It should also be noted that the PNM project, which we reported on earlier this month, also utilizes a similar setup of dual NANDs and is attempting to retrieve the new 3.6x keys. It may be possible that varicela can beat the project to the punch by utilizing his setup of dual NANDs. It will be interesting to see what transpires from this project. The scene finally appears to be heating up again!
Very Good After trying out several tests of the Nand Fat off the console with poor results because of the long cable and data loss, I decided to approach the issue by putting the two Nand and activating of interest.
Here I leave a flash1 photo of a folded and functional Sem001.
