With the PSP Remaster series recently announced, a lot of Dissidia: Final Fantasy fans have been crossing their fingers in the hopes that it will make the list of PSP titles to make the crossover to the PS3. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be happening any time soon.
At the E3 event last week, Yoshinori Kitase was asked about that very thing by Siliconera. Their response: "We have no actual plans." He then followed up that statement with this explanation: "The concept of remastering PSP titles for PS3 is a new idea and initiative from Sony. We have not had enough time to think through and plan our actions."
Given that explanation, it doesn't seem like they're completely closed off to the idea; they just need some more time to plan it out. If the Remaster series does prove to be a hit, then we're betting that Dissidia will soon be included in its roster. It's too good an opportunity to pass up, after all.
The PSP Remaster Series was announced just last month, with Monster Hunter Portable 3rd already confirmed for it. Unfortunately, the series will reportedly not carry Trophies, despite its ability to cross-save the game between the PSP and the PS3.
